Rum Balls
They are the quintessential tipsy treat of many households during the holidays, and while I could add them to my seasonal treat list, they have yet to make the basket. Instead, I’ve pulled out this staple on a few occasions when you just want something quick and easy that is a crowd pleaser for the over-21s.
Original recipe: Cece Sullivan’s Rum Balls
Ingredients
- 3 cups vanilla wafer crumbs, finely crushed
- 1 cup ground pecans
- 2 cups powdered sugar, divided
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 2/3 cup rum
Preparation
- Mix vanilla wafer crumbs, 1 cup powdered sugar and cocoa powder in a medium bowl. Add corn syrup and rum, mixing well.
- Roll into balls the size of walnuts. Roll in remaining powdered sugar.
Yields 4 dozen balls
