Although it’s not a forte and I have yet to figure out how to use a candy thermometer, creating melt-in-your-mouth candy morsels is an endeavor I undertake on the rare occasion.

Coconut Milk Truffles
In an attempt to make traditional Mexican milk fudge, I instead created these semisolid balls of yum.

These divine little alcoholic morsels have been hits in three countries in two continents (although trying to figure out if double cream is the U.K. equivalent to heavy cream was an adventure unto itself). That rich, moist chocolate mixed with the woodsy, smoky liquor—preferrably a lovely single-malt Scotch—is a dream.
